Griffin takes aim at official 9/11 conspiracy theory

It wasn't until a colleague sent Dr. David Ray Griffin an e-mail with Paul Thompson's timeline—an exact, minute-by-minute accounting of the events of Sept. 11 based entirely on mainstream media accounts—that he changed his mind. "The most glaring anomaly," Griffin now says, "was that none of the hijacked planes were intercepted, even though all of them would have been, had standard procedure been followed."

According to Gen. Ralph Eberhart, head of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), from the time the FAA senses something is wrong, it takes about a minute to contact NORAD, after which NORAD, Eberhart says, can scramble fighter jets "within a matter of minutes to anywhere in the United States." So what happened on that morning?

Pentagon C-ring exit hole mystery

"The C-ring exit hole is significant," writes Michael Meyer, "because it is not consistent with building damage from a Boeing 757 impact.  The C-Ring exit hole carries a unique signature, which can only be explained by something other than a 757 impact.  No explanation is offered for this hole in the Pentagon Building Performance Report  or the official 9-11 Commission Report."

Group meets Malaysian PM to reopen investigation

Jimmy Walter, journalist Michael Collins Piper, political editor of Islam Channel (UK) Yvonne Ridley, and William Rodriguez, the "last man to run out of the WTC before it collapsed", met with former Malaysian prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for help in setting up an "international commission to reopen the investigation."

The Reopen 911 organisation is offering US$1 million to anyone who can prove that explosives were not used to destroy the World Trade Center on 9/11.

Pentagon: Impossible flight

The Impossibility of Flying Heavy Aircraft Without Training, by Joel Harel at Physics911.net, provides facts and arguments which appear to discredit the allegation that American Airlines Flight 77 - a Boeing 757 - crashed into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.

Among the points he makes is that "for the aircraft to impact the ground floor of the Pentagon, Hanjour would have needed to have flown in with the engines buried in the Pentagon lawn." Available photos do not indicate such damage to the Pentagon lawn.

FBI: Bin Laden not wanted for 9-11?

The FBI's "Most Wanted Terrorists" web page does not state that Bin Laden is wanted for the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

It states: "Usama Bin Laden is wanted in connection with the August 7, 1998, bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya. These attacks killed over 200 people. In addition, Bin Laden is a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world."

When asked why there is no mention of 9/11 on the FBI's web page, Rex Tomb of the FBI's public affairs unit is reported to have said, "The reason why 9/11 is not mentioned on Usama Bin Laden's Most Wanted page is because the FBI has no hard evidence connecting Bin Laden to 9/11."

Bin Laden, in a September 28, 2001 interview with the Pakistani newspaper Ummat, is reported to have said: "I am not involved in the 11 September attacks in the United States."

On September 23, 2001 the BBC reported that four of the hijack "suspects"—Waleed Al Shehri, Abdulaziz Al Omari, Saeed Alghamdi, and possibly Khalid Al Midhar—were alive, and that FBI Director Robert Mueller acknowledged "that the identity of several of the suicide hijackers is in doubt."

The evidence promised by Secretary of State Colin Powell in September 2001 has yet to be made available to the public.

70 million support new 9/11 investigation

A Zogby poll indicates over 70 million American adults support a new 9/11 invstigation, 42% believe there has indeed been a cover up (with 10% unsure) and 45% think "Congress or an International Tribunal should re-investigate the attacks, including whether any US government officials consciously allowed or helped facilitate their success" (with 8% unsure).

The poll was commissioned by 911Truth.org "to inform deliberations at the June 2~4 '9/11: Revealing the Truth, Reclaiming Our Future' conference in Chicago." An August 2004 poll by Zogby International found that "half (49.3%) of New York City residents and 41% of New York citizens overall say that some of our leaders "knew in advance that attacks were planned on or around September 11, 2001, and that they consciously failed to act."

What does the new Pentagon video prove?

Yesterday the Pentagon released new video footage of what is said to show American Airlines flight 77 slamming into the Pentagon in Washington DC, on September 11, 2001. It is our understanding that the U.S. Department of Justice has yet to respond to an October 24, 2005 appeal, filed under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), for 85 videotapes of the September 11, 2001 crash of Flight 77 into the Pentagon.

It is curious that at the Dept. of Defense News Briefing, held approximately 24 hours after American Airlines Flight 77 departing from Dulles airport is said to have crashed into the Pentagon, the words "American Airlines," "Flight 77," "Boeing," "Dulles," and "passengers" were not even mentioned.

World leaders suspect the Bush administration

Several world leaders "suspect the Bush administration of involvement in the 911 attacks," writes Wayne Madsen—a Washington, DC-based investigative journalist. These include German Science and Technology Minister Andreas Von Bulow, British Environment Minister Michael Meacher, and Belgian European Parliament Member Paul Lannoye.

"In recent months," writes Madsen, "the former Cabinet ministers have been joined in their skepticism about the 'official' version of the 911 events by Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez and Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad."

"A persuasively narrated, scrupulously tasteful re-creation of the downing of the fourth and final plane hijacked by Islamist terrorists on Sept. 11," writes Manohla Dargis of the New York Times.

On September 18, according to CNN, "FBI Director Robert Mueller said a preliminary investigation indicated 18 hijackers were on the four planes," and "U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell named suspected terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden as one of the primary suspects in the hijackings and crashes."

But we're not persuaded. Here's a few reasons why:
- Why are the alleged hijackers' names not on the passenger lists released by the Associated Press on September 17, 2001?
- Why were several of the alleged hijackers reported to be alive by BBC News on September 23, 2001?

And in a speech at the prestigious Commonwealth Club of California on April 19, 2002, Mueller IIIadmitted: "In our investigation, we have not uncovered a single piece of paper—either here in the United States, or in the treasure trove of information that has turned up in Afghanistan and elsewhere—that mentioned any aspect of the September 11 plot."

Moussaoui trial a 'charade'

The trial holding Zacarias Moussaoui responsible for the horrors of 9/11 has all the marks of a political charade, according to Scholars for 9/11 Truth, a society of experts devoted to exposing falsehoods and establishing truths about the events of September 11. "Even the most basic elements of due process have been violated," according to James H. Fetzer, its founder and co-chair, "by failing to prove that the accused had anything to do with 9/11. What we are seeing here tends to substantiate Charlie Sheen's allegations."

9/11, war, democracy, and deception

Cheney main 9/11 suspect says former Star Wars chief

Dr. Robert M. Bowman, retired Lt. Col., USAF, recipient of the Eisenhower Medal, the George F. Kennan Peace Prize, the President’s Medal of Veterans for Peace, the Society of Military Engineers Gold Medal, and dozens of other awards and honors, said during an interview with radio talk show host Alex Jones that Vice-President Richard Cheney is the prime suspect behind the attacks of September 11, 2001.

Dr. Bowman says that "the drills on the morning of 9/11 that simulated planes crashing into buildings on the east coast were used as a cover to dupe unwitting air defense personnel into not responding quickly enough to stop the attack."

Dr. Bowman has a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Nuclear Engineering from Caltech, and is one of the foremost experts on U.S. National Security. Dr. Bowman worked secretly for the US government on the Star Wars project and was the first to coin that term in 1977.

Michael C. Ruppert, author of "Crossing the Rubicon," also names Mr. Cheney as the "the prime suspect in the mass murders of 9/11."

Venezuela to launch 9-11 investigation

Alex Jones reports that philanthropist Jimmy Walter, and World Trade Center survivor William Rodriguez, arrived in Caracas Venezuela in which "they met with with the President of the Assembly," and will soon meet with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, "in anticipation of an official Venezuelan government investigation into 9/11."

"The US government," reports Jones, "attempted to sabotage the trip by putting Rodriguez, who has been decorated at the White House itself, and Walter on a no fly list."

A society of experts and scholars has now joined with Judicial Watch in calling for release of videos that are being held by the Department of Defense, which are essential to understanding events at the Pentagon that transpired on September 11, 2001. 'Bin Laden tapes are phony'

The CIA verified an audiotape delivered to al-Jazeera in fall 2002 as authentic. The world's foremost voice identification experts in Switzerland reported that "the message was recorded by an impostor."

According to Dr. Kevin Barrett, an Islamologist and Arabist: "Every bin Laden message since then has been equally phony. They are released at moments when the Bush regime needs a boost and the American media go along with the fraud. Remember the bogus bin Laden tape that made headlines right before the 2004 presidential election? If you didn't figure out that it was a CIA-produced commercial for George Bush, I have some great bridges to sell you. Walter Cronkite, bless his heart, opined that Karl Rove was behind that tape."

Former Reagan official questions 9/11 report

Paul Craig Roberts, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration, questions "the glaring defects of the 9/11 Commission Report."

Mr. Roberts writes in CounterPunch: "There are not many editors eager for writers to explore the glaring defects of the 9/11 Commission Report. One would think that if the report could stand analysis, there would not be a taboo against calling attention to the inadequacy of its explanations. We know the government lied about Iraqi WMD, but we believe the government told the truth about 9/11."

Bin Laden video confession 'a fake'

Brigham Young University Professor Steven E. Jones says "A video tape purported to show bin Laden confessing to masterminding the attacks was a fake. Other tapes in which bin Laden denied involvement were more likely authentic."

Prof. Jones, a member of Scholars for 9/11 Truth—a group of academics who dispute the government's account of 9/11—was speaking to an overflow crowd on Wednesday at the Center for the Study of Ethics, Utah Valley State College.

Prof. Jones said "he suspects a thermite detonation from inside the building" caused the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7.

Revelations in the 9/11 oral histories

Following a Freedom of Information Act request, "12,000 pages of oral histories rendered in the voices of 503 firefighters, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians, were made public," and published by the New York Times. The oral histories include testimony such as:

Firefighter Richard Banaciski: "[T]here was just an explosion [in the south tower]. It seemed like on television [when] they blow up these buildings. It seemed like it was going all the way around like a belt, all these explosions."

Assistant Fire Commissioner Stephen Gregory: "I saw a flash flash flash [at] the lower level of the building. You know like when they demolish a building?"

Paramedic Daniel Rivera: "[I]t was [like a] professional demolition where they set the charges on certain floors and then you hear 'Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop'."

Dr. David Ray Griffin examines these oral histories, and other less widely known reports, in an article published by the 911Truth.org. He asks, "why did we have to wait for this court-ordered release to learn about these testimonies? Should not they have been discussed in "The 9/11 Commission Report," which was issued over a year earlier?"

Dr. Griffin is the author of "The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions." He alleges there are over 100 lies in the The 9/11 Commission Report.

Judge orders U.S. to give up pre-9/11 documents

U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema has ordered government lawyers to give defense lawyers documents describing what the government knew about the 9/11 conspiracy prior to September 11, 2001.

Lawyers for Zacarias Moussaoui, the only person charged by the U.S. in the 9/11 conspiracy, allege that the government knew more about the conspiracy than did the defendant.

FOIA request for videotapes of 9/11 Pentagon crash stalled

The U.S. Department of Justice has yet to respond to an October 24, 2005 appeal, filed under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), for 85 videotapes of the September 11, 2001 crash of Flight 77 into the Pentagon.

The existence of the videotapes “in the possession of the FBI [was] described in the declaration of Special Agent (“SA”) Jacqueline Maguire dated September 7, 2005, in the lawsuit captioned Bingham v. United States Department of Justice,” according to Scott A. Hodes, Attorney at Law.

Agent Maguire states that one videotape from a Pentagon security camera shows Flight 77 hitting the Pentagon. This videotape would be used as evidence in the case U.S. v. Zacarias Moussaoui.

The original FOIA Request No. 1030438-000 to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, filed on behalf of Scott Bingham, was denied on October 20, 2005.

Many still question what really happened at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. These videotapes may answer their questions.

Author of 5 unanswered questions on MSNBC Hardball

James Ridgeway, Washington correspondent for the Village Voice, and author of The Five Unanswered Questions About 9/11 appeared today on MSNBC Hardball. Mr. Ridgeway asks:

1. The initial government response: Why was Cheney running the country on 9/11? Where was Donald Rumsfeld, commander of the US armed forces? Why didn't American Airlines immediately alert the FAA headquarters and the military at 8:20 when the airline first learned from flight attendants onboard that a hijack was underway?
2. The ignorance of the FBI and CIA: With Al-Qaeda firmly on the radar for years, why were they unable to see this coming?
3. The failings of the FBI's translation department: Why wasn't the Bureau set up to decipher the transmissions within its grasp?

Professor concurs with Jones and Griffin on WTC demolition

Professor James H. Fetzer, Distinguished McKnight University Professor, University of Minnesota, has made available the "penultimate version" of his chapter for a forthcoming book by Prof. David Ray Griffin and Peter Dale Scott: "9/11 and the American Empire."

Prof. Fetzer concurs with Prof. Jones and Prof. Griffin that explosives were used to demolish the World Trade Center. Prof. Fetzer concludes: "Likelihood measures of evidential support establish that the WTC was brought down through the use of controlled demolition and that the Pentagon was not hit by a Boeing 757."

9/11 Public Discourse Project asks 10 questions

The 9/11 Public Discourse Project - a private group consisting of former members of the 9/11 Commission, at a press briefing in Washington, stated that many questions are unanswerable. However, among the questions that are answerable, reported the Village Voice, are:

1. Where was the "National Command Authority"?
2. Who gave the order to try to shoot the planes down?
3. What exactly were all those firefighters doing in the Towers?
4. Did anyone think the Towers would collapse?
5. Why was Giuliani's command bunker at ground zero?
6. Why did WTC-7 fall?

8. How dangerous was - and is - the air at ground zero?
9. What exactly did Zacarias Moussaoui plan to do?
10. What's on those blanked-out pages?

VIDEO: European officials express 'grave doubts'

Michael Meacher - former British Minister for the Environment, and Andreas von Bülow - former German Secretary of Defense - expressed grave doubts about the U.S. explanation of the attack on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

They presented their views in a documentary '9/11: Aanslag of geschenk uit de hemel?' which aired on 'TweeVandaag' (Channel 2 Today) - a daily current affairs show broadcast on Nederland 2.

245 U.S. Senators and Representatives push to investigate 'ABLE DANGER'

U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon (R-Pa.), vice chairman of the House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees, sent a letter on November 18 to Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld requesting that he allow "former participants in the intelligence program known as ABLE DANGER to testify in an open hearing before the United States Congress."

According to former FBI Director, Louis J. Freeh (September 1, 1993 - June 25, 2001): "Able Danger concluded in February 2000 that military experts had identified Mohamed Atta by name (and maybe photograph) as an al Qaeda agent operating in the U.S. Subsequently, military officers assigned to Able Danger were prevented from sharing this critical information with FBI agents, even though appointments had been made to do so. Why?"

Mr. Freeh adds, "The Able Danger intelligence, if confirmed, is undoubtedly the most relevant fact of the entire post-9/11 inquiry." To date, 245 U.S. Senators and Representatives have signed Mr. Weldon's letter.

Tucker Carlson ducks WTC-7 collapse in Jones interview

Prof. Steven Jones, writes Tucker Carlson of MSNBC's The Situation, "seemed to connect with a huge number of viewers," but was "almost totally incapable of explaining his own ideas. By the end of the interview I understood no more about his hypothesis than when it began. He was an epically bad guest."

While the word "hypothesis" may not be clear to the average viewer - Prof. Jones may have done better by sticking to simpler language, it seemed to this viewer that Tucker was an "epically" bad host. He didn't give Prof. Jones a chance.

Tucker kept asking about World Trade Center buildings 1 and 2, when Prof. Jones wanted to talk about World Trade Center building 7, and wanted Tucker to show the video of the collapse of this 47-story building.

Why is it that MSNBC, and other networks, refuse to question the collapse of building 7? How many Americans even know that building 7 collapsed in less than 7 seconds - after a fire had burned for several hours. We're told that no other steel-framed building has collapsed from fire.

What caused building 7 to collapse in this manner? Does Tucker have an answer? It seems that he doesn't even want to examine the evidence. But at least he did invite Prof. Jones to air highly controversial views, which is more than other networks have done.

9/11-Iraq link refuted 10 days after attack

The National Journal reported yesterday that ten days after the attacks on the World Trade Center, President Bush was told that the U.S. intelligence community had no evidence linking the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein to the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The Senate Intelligence Committee has asked the White House for the record of these briefings, and related CIA assessments. The Bush administration has refused to turn over these documents.

This intelligence information was was also distributed to Vice President Cheney, National Security Council adviser Condoleeza Rice, and other senior Bush administration policy makers.

50% of New Yorkers question 9/11 Commission report

Kevin Barrett coordinator, Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth, Madison, in a letter published in The Capital Times writes: "In New York, half the population believes that top U.S. officials conspired to commit mass murder and high treason on 9/11, while the other half does not (Zogby poll, 8/29/04). Though the 9/11 truth forces have equal numbers, and better arguments, so far they have not been able to get a word edgewise into the New York Times."

MSNBC: Questioning what happened on 9/11

JONES:  ... There are two hypotheses here.  One is fire and damage caused all three buildings to collapse. 

CARLSON:  OK. 

JONES:  The other is that explosives in the buildings may have caused the collapse.  And so, then we analyze and see which fits the data better, and I've done that in my 25-page paper. 

CARLSON:  I want to read you a quote from the 'Deseret Morning News,' a paper in Utah, from you.  I'm quoting now.

"It is quite plausible that explosives were pre-planted in all three buildings and set off after the two plane crashes, which are actually a diversion tactic.  Muslims are probably not to blame for bringing down the World Trade Center buildings after all." . . .

JONES:  Well, that's basically it, yes, but as we read in the FEMA report, it says here, and I put this in my paper, of course.  "The best hypothesis, which is the only one they looked at, fire, has only a low probability of occurrence.  Further investigation analyses are needed to resolve this issue, and I agree with that."

 . . . all scientists now reasonably agree that the fires were not sufficiently hot to melt the steel, so what is this molten metal?  It's direct evidence for the use of high-temperature explosives, such as thermite, which produces molten iron as an end product.

We are neither conducting an investigation, nor do we wish to duplicate the vast amount of information available on the Internet. Rather we want to post news of "upcoming events, interviews, professional publications, books, etc." regarding individuals who fall into one or more of the three categories below.

(1) scientists and engineers who are conducting independent research into the events of 9/11;
(2) authors whose books on 9/11 have been published by major, non-fiction publishers;
(3) others whose questioning of the official version of 9/11 has been reported in major news media.

He argues that "omissions and distortions" in the report amount to a cover-up by government officials and says that the available evidence suggests that the Bush administration was complicit in the 9/11 attacks.

Why Indeed Did the WTC Buildings Collapse?

Brigham Young University, Physics Professor, Steven E. Jones writes: "Concluding remarks in the FEMA report on the WTC 7 collapse lend support to my arguments: The specifics of the fires in WTC 7 and how they caused the building to collapse ["official theory"] remain unknown at this time. Although the total diesel fuel on the premises contained massive potential energy, the best hypothesis [fire/damage-caused collapse] has only a low probability of occurrence. Further research, investigation, and analyses are needed to resolve this issue. . . .

"None of the government-funded studies have provided serious analyses of the explosive demolition hypothesis at all. Until the above steps are taken, the case for accusing ill-trained Muslims of causing all the destruction on 9-11-01 is far from compelling. It just does not add up. . . .
